TEXAS 1836

To some, it may seem like just a number, but in the birthplace of Texas, it means everything. 1836 is the year Texas was born. A diverse group of ornery, tough, independent dreamers got together and decided to make this place their own (and ours). On March 2, 1836, they did just that.
Our 1836 brand of hand-selected, high grown, 100% Arabica coffees are inspired by these heroes. Their integrity, attitude, fortitude and fiercely independent  spirits shine through on each and every roast.

On October 14th, 2003 we pulled our first batch of coffee from our 10# roaster in a small building on our homestead. We still have the original one pound bag of Colombian Supremo from that day. 

The first year we roasted and experimented with 2,000 pounds of coffee.  That year we were able to refine our basic skills and develop our 'Independent' style of deep-roasting which pays respect to old-school roasting methods and traditions.
